Milwaukee may be famous for its beer, but don’t cut it short! The city has a range of bars and restaurants that deliver impressive atmospheres, reasonable prices, and lots of liquors. Whether you are new to the area or have lived here for years, we are happy to have compiled a list of bars/restaurants where you can grab a great drink!
Cozy up with a Cocktail:
1. Bryant’s for a cocktail:
Take a step back in time and feel like you are a part of history. Bryant’s cocktail lounge is the fist ever cocktail bar created not only in Milwaukee, but all of Wisconsin. There may be 439 drink choices, but there are absolutely no drink menus. That’s right. Instead, tell your waiter or waitress your favorite flavors and liquor and pretty soon you’ll have a cocktail based off of what you said. With dim lighting, soft music, cozy booths, cocktails and good company, Bryant’s makes for the perfect romantic date.
Brunch with a Bloody:
2. Sobelman’s for a Bloody
It is definitely no secret that the team at Sobelman’s know what they are doing when it comes to booze and burgers. The bar and grill has the reigning title of “Best Bloody Mary 2015” from OnMilwaukee for the third year in a row. With titles like “The Baconado” (a bloody piled high with lots of bacon), “The Crown Mary” (a bloody with a mini burger and an upside down Corona), and the infamous “Chicken Fried Bloody Beast” (a bloody that comes with an entire fried chicken on top), you are bound to find one (or four) to suit your taste buds. Cheers to bloodies and burgers!
Make Brew City Proud with a Brew:
3. Milwaukee Brewing Co. Tour for a Beer(s):
Because who doesn’t love a craft beer? Better yet, who doesn’t love a craft beer brewed right here in our favorite city. The Milwaukee Brewing Company offers tours of their brewery on Fridays & Saturdays. Tours are fun, informative, and involve a whole lot of beer samples. If you have already done a tour, there is an “Open House” offered on Saturdays from 5-7pm. Endless beer for ten bucks for two hours? Sounds like one of the best drinking deals in Milwaukee.
Forget Your Wines with Wine:
4. Vino 100 for a Glass of Wine:
There are no whines about wine here! Located in the Historic Third Ward, Vino 100 offers the opportunity to purchase wine for your home or indulge in a glass at the bar. “Flights of wine” are also available at the bar which would be a fun way to test what you want to take home! Vino 100’s website prides itself on having, “100 Great Bottles of Wine for $25.00 or Less.” That sounds like a steal to us.
Celebrate with a Margarita:
5. Cempazuchi for a Margarita
According to OnMilwaukee, Cempazuchi, in the Lower East Side won the award for “Best Margarita 2014.” Upon further research, we can absolutely understand why. Their margarita menu has options that could please anybody. “La Casa” is their “original house margarita,” but if you want to go for something more nontraditional, the “Mexican Rose” margarita has a splash of pomegranate and the “Tequila Mockingbird” is made with cucumber water. Pair your margarita with a meal and you’re set!
